Nytt grensesnitt fra ScienceDirect

In August, ScienceDirect, Scopus and the targeted web content from Scirus will be integrated within one platform - SciVerse. SciVerse will combine trusted content with an expanding universe of tools that accelerate search and discovery.

As this Accelerating Science video explains, the August release of SciVerse will:

• Deliver de-duplicated results from a single search across your licensed ScienceDirect, Scopus and Scirus products
• Feature three free applications to enhance search and discovery, including one that allows you to search only the methods/experimental procedures sections of the articles in ScienceDirect

Over subsequent releases, SciVerse will:

• Give you access to content APIs that allow us and other members of the scientific community to develop applications
• Enable researchers to establish a trusted social network of colleagues that will help them filter information

Ny funksjonalitet i ScieneDirect

• The “Related Articles” feature automatically displays citation information and the abstract – including a link to the full text – of content relevant to the article being accessed.

• Spell check: To maximize search outcomes and eliminate unwanted results, the Fast Search & Transfer™ (FAST) spell check function has been integrated into ScienceDirect. The spell checker recognizes spelling errors using a built-in dictionary.

• Copyright: Subscribers can order copyright permissions directly through ScienceDirect now that Rightslink® has been selected for online copyright permissions.

• eBooks on ScienceDirect, which includes the eBooks Collection 1995-2006 and the eBooks Collection 2007, launched on September 10, 2007. The eBooks on ScienceDirect program will, for the first time, make virtually all of Elsevier’s Science & Technology academic publication catalogue of books fully searchable.

Live chat
ScienceDirect Live Chat er en online supporttjeneste som er tilgjengelig 24 timer i døgnet mandag til fredag. Tjenesten vil bli gjort tilgjengelig for alle brukere etter en prøveperiode med utvalgte kunder.

RSS feeds
ScienceDirect tilbyr RSS feeds. Tjenesten er tilgjengelig for søkeresultat, siteringer og nye artikler og også 300 forhåndsvalgte emner. RSS kan også integreres på bibliotekets hjemmesider, for å holde brukerene oppdatert på temaer som er av interesse for dem.

Fra april av vil SD tilby høykvalitetsbilder for tidsskrifter der det er etterspurt.

Vi har nå mottatt passord til Science Direct. Passordene ligger på fellesområdet under:

K:\adm-avd\adm-ls\TD-team\databaser. Der ligger en exel-fil med 50 passord.
Filen heter Passord_Sciencedirect.
