One-step RSS alerts now fully integrated into EBSCOhost

EBSCO Publishing is making it easier for users to receive
alerts. The One-Step RSS Alerts feature is now fully
integrated into EBSCOhost®. RSS alerts allow users to add
their EBSCOhost searches to their feed readers. Library
administrators can control the availability of this feature
by using EBSCOadmin.
Users who conduct an EBSCOhost search will see the RSS
orange icon next to the Create alert for this search link. When the
user clicks the link, EBSCOhost displays confirmation that the
Search Alert has been created, including its RSS feed, used to
enable news readers or Web pages (aggregators) to display
alert results.
As long as the EBSCOhost user adds the feed to an aggregator
within one week of its creation, it will not expire, unless the
aggregator does not automatically update results (extremely
unlikely) supplied by the feed for two months.
Updated Search or Journal Alert results can be sent to an
e-mail address as well. Users can click the Sign in and create
a new alert link.

Nye databaser i Læringssenteret

Fra 1 januar har Læringssenteret tegnet abonnement på følgende databaser:

* Anatomy TV: Tredimensjonal anatomileksikon på nett.

* Blackwell: Vi har utvidet tilgangen til Blackwell til Full Collection som innholder 797 titler i fulltekst. Fagområdene som dekkes er Science, Technology and Medicine, Social Science and Humanities og Medicine and Nursing.

* Helsebiblioteket.no : Diverse databaser og fulltekst tidsskrifter innen medisin, helse og sykepleie.

* IEEE: Ingeniør database med hovedvekt på elektronikk og data. Basen dekker IEEE tidsskrifter og magasiner i fulltekst, konferanse publikasjoner og standarder. Tittelliste: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/opacjrn.jsp

* Ordnett er utvidet med Oxfordpakken, Stor engelsk - norsk, norsk- engelsk, Engelsk teknisk og Engelsk økonomisk.

Ny funksjonalitet i ScieneDirect

• The “Related Articles” feature automatically displays citation information and the abstract – including a link to the full text – of content relevant to the article being accessed.

• Spell check: To maximize search outcomes and eliminate unwanted results, the Fast Search & Transfer™ (FAST) spell check function has been integrated into ScienceDirect. The spell checker recognizes spelling errors using a built-in dictionary.

• Copyright: Subscribers can order copyright permissions directly through ScienceDirect now that Rightslink® has been selected for online copyright permissions.

• eBooks on ScienceDirect, which includes the eBooks Collection 1995-2006 and the eBooks Collection 2007, launched on September 10, 2007. The eBooks on ScienceDirect program will, for the first time, make virtually all of Elsevier’s Science & Technology academic publication catalogue of books fully searchable.
  
  

Helsebiblioteket kjøper tilgang til PsycARTICLES

I dag åpnes tilgang til tidsskriftssamlingen PsycARTICLES for norsk helsepersonell og studenter på helsefag. Dette er en verdifull samling fulltekst tidsskrifter fra American Psychological Association (APA). I dag er tilgangen åpen kun for brukere som er logget på Helsebiblioteket med brukernavn og passord, men neste uke er tilgangen også åpnet for institusjoner som er registrert med IP-serie hos Helsebiblioteket.

Institutions have the rights within a standard license to compile reading lists and lists of links to relevant content and this is far more preferable for us as usage will then be recorded and access is controlled as the reading lists and other links guide users to Synergy and therefore access is automatically restricted to authorized users. I don’t understand why they would have access problems from remote sites. An authorised user working outside the IP of the institution should be able to access via remote username and password.

Nettdokumenter" - nytt innslag i menyen på BIBSYS Nettsted

Flere har nevnt at det er komplisert å finne fram til alle deler av
systemet som man må forholde seg til ved administrasjon og registrering
av nettdokumenter. Dette har vi nå gjort noe med, ved å samle all
informasjon om nettdokumenter på én side. Denne siden er tilgjengelig
via merkelappen "Nettdokumenter" i toppmenyen på de blå sidene ("For
BIBSYS-bibliotek"):
